The Canon Bollywood Shootout is a fun-filled game that takes the prospective player through the colourful characters and situations in Bollywood. Players now get to role-play paparazzi armed with Canon cameras to capture embarrassing, funny and adorable pictures of their most ‘desirable celebrities from the tinsel town’. Canon’s Cyber- paparazzi will get to experience features such as face detection, motion detection, blink detection, 20x optical zoom to get error free photographs. For every right image, the paparazzi would be awarded points.

Canon lets the player upload the cumulative score as an entry to a contest linked with the game. The top three scorers who have played and uploaded their scores between 12 June 2009 and 20 July 09 will win a Canon Powershot A480 camera worth Rs 8,995.

Speaking about the game, Alok Bharadwaj, senior vice president, Canon India, said, “The idea behind Canon Bollywood Shootout was to induce an extra bit of fun and excitement in the lives of our customers. It is for the first time that Canon is using this platform to get closer to its customers. Games2win was an obvious choice as they are highly reputed in this domain. He further added, “To explain relevance of technology, we decided to use innovative, entertaining and involving activity for higher impact. This game will also be available on various networking websites like Orkut and Facebook. We expect 100,000 Web surfers to play this game and get a delight of Canon.”

Speaking about the game, Shunichi Senda, director, imaging communication products, Canon India, said, “The Canon Bollywood Shootout is not just giving us a chance to engage with photography enthusiasts but also with gamers. We are very excited to see the response we receive for the initiative. We are confident this initiative from Canon will bring us closer to our customers.”
