How To Wear Estate Jewelry For Casual Friday

Every once in a while I break down and adopt casual Friday attire.  This morning I had errands to run so cargos, flats, a sweater and a long scarf were the only reasonable choice.
Staying with my green theme of the week, I decided to pair sage-y green with vintage jade jewelry from Beladora2.com.

Here's the carved jade pendant on a jade bead necklace, jade earrings, vintage jade ring, modernist jade ring and my favorite, a carved jade fu dog charm on a gold link bracelet to ward off evil.

OK, so I'm not that photogenic
But I like my casual outfit and vintage jewelry
better than what is being showcased in the window down the street at the Chanel boutique

Why, no really why, is Chanel showing high waisted elastic cuffed short sweatpants thingys in gold lame type fabric with a fake gold fringe belt and an oversized print top?
Who wears these things individually or together in one outfit?
Who?

St Patricks Day Vintage Green Jade Bling

This St Patricks Day in solidarity with friends and family in Japan we are sharing the green with this photo of a Japanese landscape.
Serene isn't it?
And keeping in the green theme
a few pieces of vintage green jade bling from Beladora2.com.

I love the vine and leaf detail on the side of this 1 1/2 inch elongated ring
I love the fact that this vintage pendant is 3 1/2 inches long and it looks so cool on a long gold chain

I love these bracelets with only one big 1 1/2 inch charm, it is such a 1940's movie star look.

Note:  A percent of all March sales goes to Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief Fund

Giving Up on Gump's

In a post this week at Passage des Perles about gifts for Mother's Day, one of the suggestions was a jade ring from the venerable San Francisco store, Gump's. It's been years since I have even thought about that store, especially because they closed their Beverly Hills location more than a decade ago.
Which made me wonder, given the Gump's price point, who would buy jewelry there and why?

The Gump's green jade ring option

Green Jade Saddle Ring in 14K from Gump's $2300

(Beladora2 would sell this ring for under $500)

Green Jade Pendant in 14K from Gump's $1200

(Beladora2 would sell this pendant for less than $400)

If you are considering something in jade for a Mother's Day gift
Don't forget the 10% discount code which is PSEU
Yeah...go ahead and try getting that from Gump's!
